WELCOME, NEW TEACHERS!!!!!!!
Join the Chamber in giving a first-class Pulaski County welcome to the new teachers who will be joining our County school system this fall. We will be collecting small, appropriate gift items to be included in a welcome kit to be presented to each new teacher at a special luncheon in their honor. We will need a total of 35 of each of the donated items. Help us show our new teachers just how much we appreciate them and value the contributions they will be making to the lives of our young people. To participate in this project, please contact the Chamber and advise us what items to help them with their jobs that you will be contributing. The Pulaski Town Council has called a special meeting for July 29 to interview candidates for the vacant seat on the council created when former Councilman Jeff Worrell resigned his seat to become Mayor
on July 1. The public is being invited to attend the meeting and submit questions for the candidates; these questions may be submitted to Town Manager John Hawley at the Municipal Building. The location of the 5:00 p.m. meeting has not yet been determined due the possible need to
accommodate a larger than normal crowd.
The Entrepreneur Coalition is sponsoring a series of “Business Resource and Entrepreneurism Workships” (BREW) on the second Tuesday of each month. The next workshop in the series will be held on Tuesday, August 12th, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Pulaski Elementary School (Center Entrance, Route 11, Morehead Lane). The August workshop is “Meet the Lender and Show Me the Money.”

JACKSON PARK CONCERT SERIES
The Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley and the Town of Pulaski will once again be sponsoring this series. Remaining dates and performers will be:
Aug. 1 -- The big band sound of the Old Pros
Aug. 15 -- The bluegrass Tennessee Borderline
Concert times will be from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Jackson Park Gazebo (across from the municipal building) in downtown Pulaski. Admission is free. Concessions will be provided by Donna Surber.

Raymond F. Ratcliffe Memorial Museum, located in the renovated Train
Depot in Downtown Pulaski, is pleased to announce that Evan Collins will
be running model trains there from 10 a.m. – 12 noon every other Saturday.

RECOGNITION….
The Town of Pulaski is pleased to announce that the Employee of the Month of July is Officer R. J. Davis, who has been with the Police Department since 1992.
Officer Davis was recognized for subduing a sword-2ielding man at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in May.
The Featured County Employees for the month for July are Bo Ryan and Brian Kornatowski.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR
for County of Pulaski. This position is critical in planning for and responding to local emergencies. Minimum educational requirements are a two year degree or equivalent, with extensive emergency services training or experience preferred. Other required qualifications include possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license, excellent communication skills in working with public and other emergency services volunteers and staff, and individual must be a resident of Pulaski County or willing to relocate.
Beginning salary is $43,220 annually. Benefits include: health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, state retirement program, optional vision insurance and 457 retirement program, county vehicle, sick and vacation leave, paid holidays.
