Who We Are
The Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) was founded in London in 1844 by George Williams. Williams wanted to provide a wholesome, Christian alternative to life on the streets to young men away from home for the first time. They offered Bible study and prayer.
In 1851, the first YMCA in the United States was founded in Boston by sea captain and missionary, Thomas Valentine Sullivan. The YMCA movement quickly spread across the United States.
The Hensel Eckman YMCA was Chartered April 24, 1947 to help young men grow in spirit, mind and body.
Today, our YMCA, together with YMCAs across the nation, is the largest community service organization.
Hours of Operation
Monday - Friday 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Holidays - The Hensel Eckman YMCA is closed on the following holidays:
New Years Day
Easter
Independence Day (4th of July)
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
The YMCA closes at 1 PM on New Years Eve and Christmas Eve
NEW. . .SESSION SCHEDULE: All swimming lessons, sports programs and specialty classes will follow this schedule to help you plan your Y time. During the “break” periods, there will be time for make-up lessons, introduction to new classes, samplers, etc. Call the YMCA for more information.

EXCITING NEW SERVICE FOR MEMBERS!!
This fall your YMCA will be offering Child Watch! This program will provide a safe, supervised place for your children while you participate in classes or you work-out. This service will be available from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Special Events and Birthday Party Rentals
Rent a room for an hour and a half, with access to the pool or gym for an hour.
Fee: Members $30.00
Non-members $50.00
When: Fridays - 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays - 1:00 p.m., or 3:00 p.m.
Sundays - 1:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.
