The HPASWV is one of five private not-for-profit agencies in the Commonwealth of Virginia legislated to provide health planning in Virginia, including review of Certificate of Public Need applications for reviewable healthcare facilities and services. HPASWV is responsible for Region III, which covers approximately one-third of the state, and contains about 18.5% of its population. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
